Kirill Safin graduated from the Moscow State Ballet Academy in 2006 and completed a final year of training at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St Petersburg. Kirill was chosen to join the Mariinsky Ballet Company in 2007, and later, he became a leading soloist of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre. His repertoire included the major classic roles such as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Solor in La Bayadere, Conrad in Le Corsaire and Albrecht in Giselle.
We are delighted to announce the arrival of Ekaterina at the London Russian Ballet School. Ekaterina joins us from the Vaganova School and Marinsky Ballet. She will be teaching adult classes at least three times per week; her passion and dedication will shine through and definitely enhance your time with her. We are incredibly lucky to have this beautiful dancer join us.
Ekaterina Anishchenko graduated from Vaganova Ballet Academy in 2018 and became a soloist at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. Ekaterina will be joining our team to share her knowledge and love of ballet. She has developed and now teaches her own bespoke Ballet Pilates programme. Her repertoire includes major classical roles such as Nikya in La Bayadere, Maria in the Nutcracker and the 7th Waltz in Chopiniana. Ekaterina will help you to find your mind and body connection through stretching and an intense workout for your body.
Grisha trained at the Bolshoi and is a soloist at the Jacobsen Company in St Petersburg. Grisha is a wonderful teacher who will expand your technical skill to grow your confidence, develop your technique at every level and let you move with powerful athleticism and grace.
Dmitri Gruzdev, was a Russian dancer for over 25 years with two of the world’s finest companies. He is now passing on his wealth of knowledge and experience to the next generation.
Dmitri trained at the prestigious Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg and graduated in 1989 when he was immediately offered a position at the world-famous Kirov Ballet where he trained with the great renowned teachers Sergei Berezhnoi, Vladilen Semenov, Irina Kolpakova and Tatiana Terekhova. In 1993 he joined English National Ballet and worked his way from soloist to become the company’s leading Senior Principal male dancer for many years.
Dmitri retired from ENB in 2016, and he is now a highly regarded and sought after teacher and repetiteur with a full diploma from the Royal Ballet School Teacher Training Programme. Since starting his career as a teacher he has worked with professional students and dancers from such companies as the Bolshoi Ballet, Rambert Ballet School, Scottish Ballet and English National Ballet. He also enjoys working as a private coach for individuals and young people seeking entry into the best schools.
Dmitri aims to help dancers of all abilities to maintain and further their technique, work on their musicality while at the same time investigate and explore their own personal artistry. Classes are based on the Russian ballet system. Dmitri teaches ballet with a very happy attitude and his lessons, while both musical and technical, are always full of fun.

Chris was trained at the Legat School of Russian Classical Ballet in the Legat/Vaganova system and after graduating joined Gothenburg Ballet (Sweden). He has over 33
years experience as a ballet dancer, performer, ballet master and teacher and has worked with major ballet companies, musical theatre, opera, film and vocational institutions.
After leaving Sweden he danced with various Ballet companies including, Scottish Ballet, London City Ballet, the National Ballets of Norway and Portugal and English National Ballet. He was a guest principal dancer with the State Ballet of Pecs (Hungary), Minnesota Dance Theatre (USA), Ballet Ireland and Vienna Festival Ballet. He has also performed in the West End with the musicals ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and ‘Carousel’. He was a soloist dancer on European tour with Sylvie Guillem dancing in
Later Chris qualified as a teacher with the Russian Ballet Society and developed his teaching practice in the Legat and Vaganova method after working with his teacher Mr Mohsen El Wakil, (ex Bolshoi Ballet Academy and GITIS, Moscow) and Professor Kalina Bogoeva from the University of Sofia, gaining an Advanced Certificate in the Russian Pedagogic Method.
Chris was a full time teacher at English National Ballet School for 5 years, at the Rambert School for 8 years and was Deputy Head of Dance at the Hammond School. He was the first foreigner to be invited to teach for 4 months in China at the Shanghai Ballet Academy and Shanghai Ballet Company. He has also been a regular guest teacher at the Houston Ballet Academy (USA) for the past 3years.
Chris was Ballet Master of the International tour of ‘Phantom of the Opera’ for 2 years, and has been a guest Ballet Master for Singapore Dance Theatre and Tokyo City Ballet, he also regularly teaches workshops and Master classes in Japan.
Naomi Norris trained at the Queensland Conservatoire of Ballet Brisbane, Australia and then at the New Zealand School of Dance. On graduation she joined the AJKUN Ballet Theatre of Contemporary Dance in New York where she danced for a number of years. She returned to Sydney where she worked with the dance faculties of different universities as both teacher and examiner and at the Hill Song College where she created original contemporary pieces for the students as well as writing the contemporary dance syllabus. Naomi has been teaching for over five years.
Inga graduated from the V. Chabukiani Ballet School with distinction and joined the National State Opera and Ballet Theatre Named After Z. Paliashvili where she began as a soloist and progressed to becoming a prima. She performed in many classical ballets, Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty and Don Quixote amongst them.
Later in her career Inga taught classical ballet at the V. Chabukiani Ballet School in Tbilisi and was appointed Assistant Artistic Director, working together with T. Vashakidze, the principal dancer and choreographer of the Ballet School.
Sophie trained at Ballet West Scotland, and danced with Ballet West touring company. Her classical repertoire includes Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and Chopiniana. Sophie has a degree in ballet pedagogy, and has worked for London Russian Ballet School since 2019.
Iselin has trained extensively across the world, developing alongside Frédéric Jahn and Patricia Ruanne, Ex Ballet Masters of the Paris Opera and Ex Directors of La Scala, Milan, by Sheila Styles of the Royal Ballet and at Prodanza, Cuba. She graduated with Distinction from London Studio Centre, having trained with Margaret Barbieri and David Ashmole.
Iselin performed and toured for several years with Ballet Cymru in ballets including Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Under Milk Wood and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as performing with companies such as Ballet Russe, Ballet Theatre UK and Ballet Laura Alonso. Following her professional career, she completed teacher training and spent time training in the Professional Russian Method with teachers at London Russian Ballet School.
Iselin taught extensively for Ballet Cymru’s Education Programme, including for the Associate Programme, Outreach Programmes and Summer Schools.
She has also taught adults’ and children’s classes at London Russian Ballet School and children’s classes at schools in London, Cardiff and across the World.
Kamila is a graduate of London Russian Ballet School, class of Irina Prokofieva, Honoured Artist of Russia and former Principal of the Bolshoi Ballet. She was one of the first ever vocational students at the school and therefore is a testament to the unique education system and opportunities offered by the school.
Aleksandra graduated London Russian Ballet School in the class of Irina Prokofieva, an Honoured Artist of Russia.
During her time in the school, Aleksandra has been teaching childrens’, adults’ and outreach classes.
Aleksandra has gained exceptional knowledge and experience in LRBS from former Principles of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, as well as from taking part in a variety of Masterclasses and Academies, such as Bolshoi Ballet Academy and Academy of the Imperial Russian Ballet.
